All in a Day's Work Empty
PostSubject: All in a Day's Work   All in a Day's Work EmptyWed Jun 24, 2009 11:23 pm

Michael sat quietly on a park bench, listening to the tweet of birds that is only slightly tinny, giving away its artificial origins. It was high noon, and the park was unusually busy today. People hustling and bustling to get wherever it is their oh-so important lives are forcing them to go, slaves to the machine. They are told where to go, when to do it, and how to do it. They were mere pawns being maneuvered to a final goal determined by the chessmaster, perhaps to be sacrificed to a greater good, perhaps just for the hell of it. You never know the workings of the greater minds that are in charge up there, after all. In the meantime, Michael was just going to forge his own destiny, his own way. And he saw just the perfect place to start his day, eyeing up the passerby until spotting one he liked. Smoothly, with grace that would not be expected from this innocuous yet awkward lookingyoung man, he stood and stepped with his head down, yet knowing exactly where he was headed. Of course, he soon bumped a person, physical details indescript. Without missing a beat, his hand darted into a pocket and pulled out a wallet, which swiftly vanished into one of the many hidden pockets of the light jacket he was wearing. All of this happened in the moment of contact, which he quickly followed up.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry, are you alright? I was just in a rush to get back to my office, and I wasn't looking where I was going. I hope I didn't hurt you. I'd stay and chat, but I really must be off. Have a good day."

Michael's speech was rushed, with everything coming out as seemingly one long sentence. There was not a single stop for breath, just a giant unintelligible jumble with an apologetic sound to it. And with that, he gave a short nod to the person, still without looking up to see who he had just pickpocketed, and stepped around them, prepared to leave and congratulate himself on a good start to a new day.

(Feel free to come in as either the one pickpocketed, someone who witnessed it and wishes to confront me for either justice or comraderie, or another potential mark)

luigi was taking a walk in the park trying to make himselft calm after leaving the geneco building without the luck of finding his servants, he was just minding his own business passing by random individuals when heard a "im sorry sir"
Luigi stopped in his tracks "who the hell was that..sounded like one of those darn scumbag servants Mad" luigi turned instantly expecting to see one of his workers but instead saw the man hand the other man his coat back and slip a wallet in his pocket
Luigi chuckled at the loss of the victim "well he's F***ed", luigi walked up to the indivudual;stood infront of the man with a big grin on his face "well we dont see that all the time here, gave me a good luagh" luigi playfully nudges the man

Michael's brisk escape was cut off by a nudge from behind and a compliment on his work. Clearly the interloper was someone experienced, or at least familiar with, the more underhanded dealings of life. Without losing time, he grabbed the cspectator and gently pulled him along with him so as not to break stride. When a safe distance away, Michael turned to the outsider and had to hold back a gasp. After all, the Largo family was instantly recognizable, especially in the darker circles of society. Michael's memory fumbled for a moment before coming up with the facts that the man in front of him was Luigi Largo, notoriously ill-tempered and prone to stabbing things that did not satisfy him sufficiently, or just for the hell of it. This would take care.

"Mr. Largo, was it? Obviously you have a keen eye to spot my sleight of hand, and I appreciate the comments. I know you could simply have that man taken out if you had called too much attention to my actions, but I must admit that I was nervous for a second. But I know also that you are too intelligent to make a mistake such as that."

Again, it all came out rushed. This time, it was understandable, yet Michael found that talkin gfast left people unbalanced as they try to figure out exactly what was just said to them. For a little added insurance, His arms, casually hanging at his sides, were actually posied to grab a dagger each from his sleeves of his multi-functional jacket. Hopefully Luigi Largo had no more business with him besides a mere comment.

"Seems like he knows what he doing" luigi said to himself as he was being pulled along "where the heck is he taking me anyways"

Luigi shook his head as the man went on, luigi just let out a large "Wha?" as a response to the mans rushed tone. "hmm maybe hes not used to this,a newbie maybe"
luigi said to himself "just calm down i do this shit all the time"
he again nudged the man but noticed the man was still in a sorta ~shock~

"You scared of me?" luigi just looked at the man "lets see what he'll do" he though to himself as he tookout his knife and grinned at the man "you hiding somthing from me?"

luigi rush up to the man and playfully (Aggressively at the same time) pushed the man

From what Michael was able to infer from his knowledge of Mr. Largo and what he was seeing, his overall impression was that Mr. Largo was simply too powerful to have learned to use things like subtlety and tact. There was never a problem in Luigi's life that couldn't be stabbed into submission, with the clean-up and cover-up done by lesser beings beneath his notice. At least, that was the impression Michael got off of the man. As such, he merely nodded in perfect agreement with everything that Luigi said, until the end. After all, Michael does not take kindly to threats against his person, combined with the fact that he knew that to show weakness in front of this man would be certain death.

"Mr. Largo, I'm not sure if you have noticed, but I just picked a pocket in one of the most viciously guarded areas in the world. I have no doubt that, had I been caught, the results would have been, shall we say, less than pleasant. I'm not a man used to fear. Merely challenge."

The unspoken words hung in the air like so many lead balloons. The thief spoke calmly and softly, completely against the forced speed of his previous speech. At the same time, the rogue crouched ever so slightly so as to be able to spring backwards and evade a possible swipe, along with tossing the knives hidden in his sleeves towards his would-be assailant. After all, one could never tell with Mr. Luigi Largo.

(God-modding is frowned upon. AKA, don't declare that you accomplished something against another character without their permission. In this instance, you managed to mug me without giving me the chance to fight back or run. Live and learn, Luigi.)

Michael loosed a resignated sigh at Luigi's fumbling attempt at theft. It was more of a mugging than a pickpocket, considering the lack of tact and the blatant use of force. Again, he knew that it would be better to let the Largo have his way, as he is so used to, rather than risk the wrath of such a powerful man. After all, that one wallet didn't have enough in it to be of much value, easily replaceable. Without many losses to recoup, Michael was unperturbed by the turn of events.

"Mr. Largo," he started with a cold stare, "I feel that our time together has come to an end. Perhaps another time our paths will cross, but for now, I must bid you good day." A quick back step into the still bustling crowd, because one would have to be a fool to turn their back on Luigi Largo, and he vanished into the masses, away from the spoiled brat in such desperate need of anger management, but more importantly, towards the rest of the day. The sun was still high, and opportunities still ripe. There was no telling what else could be in store for that sly rogue.
